INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana. (1/8/2022). Era Motorsport driver Kyle Tilley will be joined by legendary codriver Martin Brady as the pair make a bid for the American Rally Association Championship (ARA) presented by DirtFish with a full season national entry.
Era Motorsport first entered into rallying late into the 2021 season as Tilley and codriver Tim Whitteridge competed in the Ojibwe Forest Rally. In their second ever event, Tilley and Whitteridge turned heads with a class win in the RC2 category at the Lake Superior Performance Rally. Tilley continued on to clinch Era Motorsport’s first overall win at Nemadji Forest Trails Rally with codriver Sarah Freeze where the pair were joined on the podium by Whitteridge in his first event as a driver. Another overall win followed at Big White Winter Rally for Tilley with codriver Alex Gelsomino.
Brady first joined Tilley in the right seat at the 2021 Oregon Trail Rally where the teammates showed competitive pace before they were forced to retire with one stage to go. An undeniable asset, Brady is one of the most skilled codrivers in the world with over 490 rally starts to his name. “I have been very fortunate to have sat alongside some ace codrivers. To have the chance to work with Irish rally legend Martin Brady is something that I am super excited about! Both Martin and I share the same goal, to win and have fun doing it. Martin is one of, if not the most experienced codrivers in the world, and I can’t wait to learn from one of the best; it raises not just my game, but the team as a whole!” said Tilley.
Brady shares the positive sentiments regarding Tilley. “I am very excited to join Kyle for the 2022 ARA season. I have been lucky in US rally and enjoyed success in every year of the ARA Championship since its inception, and I know this season will be no different. I met Kyle many months ago knowing he was a racing driver of renown, but I quickly learned that he has rallying right in his veins, not just race wins. He is first and foremost a proper enthusiast and has a love for this discipline of the sport, but when the stage countdown hits go, he is just as serious of a competitor as he is at turn one of Daytona. Era Motorsport is an impressive team with serious ambition, and I am glad to be part of it as we intend to chase and capture those goals.”
The pair are optimistic about the 2022 season. The first event, Sno*Drift, will take place February 18 and 19 in Atlanta, Michigan. The remaining seven rounds will take place throughout the year at various picturesque locations across the United States as listed in the calendar below. The pair will traverse challenging public roads as they fly through forests, sweep down winding mountain roads, zip around technical hairpin turns and soar over breath-taking jumps. The ARA presents fast, exhilarating stages that reward commitment, commitment which Brady and Tilley are more than willing to dedicate themselves to.
