WESTFIELD, Ind. (February 10, 2025) — Era Motorsport is thrilled to be teaming up with Honda Racing Corporation to offer Honda driver Kakunoshin ‘Kaku’ Ohta a seat in the No. 18 Oreca 07 LMP2 at the 2025 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

Ohta, a Honda Formula Dream Project (HFDP) graduate has already been confirmed for three rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship (IWSC) behind the wheel of the Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian team's No. 93 Acura ARX-06 but will be joining Era Motorsport for Sebring in March, as well as the IMSA Sportscar Weekend at Road America in August for additional seat time and experience as he continues his foray into the IWSC.

With experience in IMSA’s GTP class, Super Formula, Super GT500, and Super Taikyu, Ohta’s wealth of experience makes him the ideal candidate for this program, offering a mutually beneficial deal for himself, Honda, and Era.

The Honda driver will be in the car for this week’s official testing session at Sebring International Raceway alongside drivers Tobi Lütke and David Heinemeier Hansson, who will join him as co-drivers for the 12-hour race.

Honda’s goal in working with Era Motorsport is to continue offering promising young drivers such as Ohta as many opportunities as possible to gain seat time and real-world experience, which will help them become the greatest racers they can be. Era Motorsport’s successful LMP2 program offers a unique opportunity to HRC to give drivers additional seat time in a professional environment, with equipment that offers relevant seat time to the Acura ARX-06.

The partnership between HRC and Era Motorsport is a progression of Era’s continued dedication to historic motorsport where the team works with HRC to put models such as the Acura ARX-05 DPi and the ARX-03b LMP2 on track where they belong.

Era Motorsport remains thankful to HRC for the opportunity and their continued support.
